Darren is an experienced Colorectal, General and Robotic Surgeon, with a busy clinical practice in both public and private spheres. He graduated from the University of Adelaide in 1997 and was awarded his fellowship in General Surgery by the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons in 2005. His subspeciality colorectal training was completed with a final year of Fellowship at St Marks Hospital, London in 2007. He is head of the Colorectal Unit at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Adelaide, South Australia.

Darren has interests in robotic, laparoscopic & open colorectal surgery, pouch surgery for inflammatory bowel disease and polyposis, the surgical management of intestinal failure and enterocutaneous fistula. He has a special interest and extensive experience in robotic, laparoscopic and open hernia repair, and complex abdominal wall reconstruction techniques, being one of the pioneers of robotic incisional hernia management and abdominal wall reconstruction in Australia. 

He offers Easy Access services in endoscopy, colonoscopy and infusaport insertion (for suitable patients).
